Through Medical and Nutritional Intervention, MTM and its partners sponsor medical treatment and surgeries for people in our local community as well as patients from as far away as several days’ walk. These individuals are often ostracized in their schools and communities because of deformities or other medical conditions. Without MTM’s help, they would have very little hope of receiving expensive corrective surgeries or badly needed medications. Our well stocked pharmacy stores and dispenses numerous medications for treatment of parasites, diabetes, high blood pressure and many more medical problems. MTM provides specialized medical teams through our volunteers that visit Haiti through the program. The clinic holds educational programs for proper hygiene and nutrition, malaria prevention mother child wellness. We also provide vitamins, reading glasses, and more to thousands who are in need each year.

Opportunities For You to Help

Join MTM on a Medical Team! Teams consisting of doctors, nurses and other medical professionals are always welcome. The clinic is equipped with a pharmacy, medical treatment areas, as well as basic dental and surgical armamentarium. A wide variety of medical aliments come through our doors every day. Most of the patients we see are treated right in the clinic, while referrals to nearby hospitals are arranged for complex or emergency treatment beyond our scope of care.

Some might feel that if they are not trained in the medical field they have limited value on a medical trip. Compassionate volunteers are always needed regardless of your extent of medical training to help in the clinic. You can be part of the process too! If you can operate a scale, write your name or even give a warm smile and a gentle loving touch, you can play a vital role on a medical mission’s team.
